Top 3 Takeaways from the Family Retreat

What an incredible experience at the recent PCCI Family Retreat at the Cove in Asheville, North Carolina. My cup runneth over after hearing such wonderful talks and connecting face to face with all of my Christian coaching friends who I have connected with only virtually before. If you did not have the chance to experience the retreat this time around, make sure you get in on your calendar in 2020 when they roll out the location and dates. It is a must attend!
I am a frequent attendee of retreats and conferences and after a few experiences of coming away from them feeling overwhelmed, I began implementing a new rule for myself. No matter how much great information I take away, I always boil it down to 3 takeaways that I work on implementing into my life and business. This keeps me from getting stuck spinning my wheels due to feeling overwhelmed and not knowing where to begin.
Here are my top 3 takeaways from this year’s PCCI Family Retreat:

1. The call God placed in our lives is irrevocable. It doesn’t always mean that we will discern or follow the call but it is irrevocable. Those of us called to this Christian coaching movement are to walk in faith towards our calling without a full picture with clarity. As Mother Teresa said: “I will not pray for clarity for you. Clarity is the crutch of the Christian. But I will pray trust for you that your trust will increase.” May your trust in your calling to coaching increase!

2. The cause of uncertainty is a crisis of identity. When we are having uncertainty we are forgetting who we are and whose we are. The more we avoid the uncertainty the more power it has over us. We should attack uncertainty with the truth. Arm yourself with the truth and hold strong to it.

3. Always work in the vision. God gave us a vision and when the resources seem scarce or even non-existent we must trust in God that He will provide provision and a way forward for us. God is present with us through everything and He will never leave us.

Christian coaches, the world needs what we have. There are people that only you and I can reach and they need us to persevere through the uncertainty and to hone our skills.
